Description

The STEM Learning Materials Support Project enhances teaching and learning outcomes in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) across basic and secondary schools. It provides STEM textbooks, teaching & learning materials (TLMs), experiment kits, and teacher resource guides to improve classroom delivery and inspire learners, especially in underserved communities.

Implementation Plan

·         Phase 1 – Needs Assessment (Month 1): Conduct baseline assessments with District Education Offices (DEOs) and select beneficiary schools; map subject gaps and inventory existing resources.

·         Phase 2 – Procurement (Month 2): Source textbooks, TLMs, and experiment kits from vetted local publishers and suppliers; ensure curriculum alignment (Primary & JHS levels).

·         Phase 3 – Teacher Orientation (Months 3–4): Organize regional workshops to train teachers on effective use of TLMs and hands-on experiment kits.

·         Phase 4 – Distribution (Months 3–4): Deliver materials to schools; provide teacher packs and student sets; coordinate with school leadership for safe storage and use.

·         Phase 5 – Monitoring & Evaluation (Months 5–8): Conduct classroom observations, collect teacher/students feedback, and run pre/post assessments to measure learning gains.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

1.    Number of schools supported (target: 10+ schools per term).

2.    Number of STEM textbooks, TLMs and kits distributed (target: 2,000 items annually).

3.    Number of teachers trained on TLM usage (target: 50+).

4.    Percentage improvement in STEM test scores in beneficiary schools (target: 15–20% within 6 months).

5.    Teacher satisfaction with materials (survey target: 80% positive).
