Code of Conduct – Future Bridge Tech Foundation (FBTF)

Adopted by the Board of Directors

Effective Date: 17th October 2025

1. Introduction

The Future Bridge Tech Foundation (FBTF) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity, transparency, professionalism, and accountability in all its activities. This Code of Conduct establishes the principles and standards expected of all members, directors, staff, volunteers, and partners who represent or act on behalf of FBTF. By adhering to this Code, every individual contributes to our mission of bridging educational, technological, and social gaps and to our vision of empowering individuals and communities to build sustainable and connected futures.

2. Purpose of the Code

The purpose of this Code is to:

·         Provide clear guidance on ethical and professional behavior.

·         Protect the reputation, interests, and assets of FBTF.

·         Foster mutual respect, inclusion, and trust among all stakeholders; and

·         Ensure that decisions and actions align with FBTF’s values and the laws of Ghana.

3. Scope of Application

This Code applies to:

·         Members of the Board of Directors.

·         Management and Staff.

·         Volunteers and Interns.

·         Consultants, Contractors, and Partners representing FBTF.

·         Any other person acting on behalf of or in collaboration with FBTF.

4. Core Values and Ethical Principles

All individuals associated with FBTF are expected to embody and promote the following values:

5. Professional Conduct

All FBTF representatives shall:

·         Perform their duties with diligence, competence, and dedication.

·         Respect organizational hierarchy, policies, and procedures.

·         Avoid gossip, slander, or any behavior that undermines team harmony.

·         Use respectful and non-abusive language in all communication.

·         Maintain a positive image of FBTF in both professional and public settings.

6. Conflict of Interest

Individuals must avoid situations where personal interests conflict with FBTF’s objectives. Any potential conflict must be immediately disclosed to the Board or CEO. Members shall not use FBTF resources, relationships, or information for personal benefit or to benefit another organization without authorization. Acceptance of gifts, favors, or hospitality that could influence decision-making is prohibited.

7. Confidentiality

All non-public information obtained through FBTF activities must be treated as confidential. Such information shall not be disclosed or used for unauthorized purposes. This duty continues even after the individual’s relationship with FBTF ends.

8. Use of Resources and Assets

FBTF property, funds, and digital assets shall be used solely for official purposes. Misuse, theft, or unauthorized personal use of assets is strictly prohibited. All equipment and materials must be handled responsibly and maintained in good condition.

9. Protection from Harassment and Discrimination

FBTF maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward harassment, exploitation, discrimination, or abuse in any form. All members must treat one another with dignity and equality. Sexual harassment, bullying, or intimidation will result in disciplinary action, including possible termination or expulsion. Victims and witnesses are encouraged to report such incidents through established complaint channels without fear of retaliation.

10. Health, Safety, and Security

Individuals must comply with all safety policies and take reasonable steps to protect themselves and others. Any incidents, injuries, or safety hazards should be promptly reported to management. During fieldwork or community projects, staff and volunteers must follow all health and security guidelines.

11. Social Media and Public Communications

Members must not make unauthorized public statements on behalf of FBTF. Social media use must reflect professionalism and must not bring the Foundation into disrepute. Sensitive information, images, or internal discussions must not be shared publicly.

12. Accountability and Reporting Misconduct

All members have a duty to uphold this Code and report violations. Reports may be made confidentially to the Executive Director, Board Chairperson, or designated Ethics Committee. FBTF will ensure fair investigation, confidentiality, and protection against retaliation for good-faith reports.

13. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

FBTF and its representatives must comply with all applicable Ghanaian laws, regulations, and international standards governing NGOs, labor, finance, and data protection.

14. Disciplinary Actions

Violation of this Code may result in one or more of the following:

·         Verbal or written warning.

·         Suspension or termination of employment, membership, or volunteer service.

·         Legal action where applicable.

15. Review and Amendment

This Code shall be reviewed periodically by the Board of Directors to ensure relevance and effectiveness. Amendments require Board approval and shall be communicated to all members and staff.

16. Acknowledgment

This Code of Conduct approved by the board and it is applicable to all FBTF representatives.
