Environmental Sustainability Policy of FBTF

1. Introduction

Future Bridge Tech Foundation (FBTF) recognizes that protecting the environment and promoting sustainability are essential to achieving our mission of bridging social, educational, and technological gaps.
This policy outlines our commitment to minimizing our environmental impact, integrating sustainability into our programs, and inspiring the communities we serve to adopt environmentally responsible practices.

2. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to:

         Ensure FBTF operates in an environmentally responsible manner.

         Guide all staff, volunteers, partners, and beneficiaries in adopting sustainable practices.

         Embed environmental considerations into our projects, partnerships, and decision-making processes.

         Contribute to Ghana鈥檚 and global efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goals 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and 13 (Climate Action).

3. Scope

This policy applies to all FBTF activities, projects, events, staff, volunteers, and partners in Ghana and beyond. It covers operational practices, procurement, waste management, energy use, travel, and community initiatives.

6. Implementation Strategies

To achieve these objectives, FBTF will:

         Include sustainability clauses in project planning and procurement policies.

         Conduct periodic environmental audits of operations and partner activities.

         Use renewable and energy-efficient technologies in offices and digital hubs.

         Promote virtual meetings to minimize travel-related emissions.

         Establish waste segregation and recycling systems.

         Engage communities in tree-planting, clean-up, and eco-innovation projects.

         Encourage staff and volunteers to model sustainable behavior.

7. Roles and Responsibilities

         Board of Directors: Provide oversight and approve sustainability strategies.

         Chief Executive Officer (CEO): Ensure this policy is implemented organization wide.

         Project Managers: Integrate sustainability goals into project design and delivery.

         Staff and Volunteers: Practice sustainability in daily activities and promote awareness among beneficiaries.

         Partners and Contractors: Comply with FBTF鈥檚 sustainability standards and demonstrate environmental responsibility.

8. Monitoring and Evaluation

- Sustainability indicators will be integrated into program evaluations and annual reports.
- Progress will be reviewed annually, with updates to the policy as necessary.
- Feedback from staff, partners, and communities will inform continuous improvement.

9. Communication

FBTF will communicate this policy to all employees, volunteers, and stakeholders through:

         Staff onboarding and training

         Website publication

         Program briefings and partner agreements

         Public awareness campaigns

10. Review

This policy shall be reviewed every two (2) years or as required to reflect changing environmental standards, legal requirements, and organizational growth.
